Jacob Reed
Current Shows
Jacob Reed graduated from USC with a double-major in Film and Fine Arts, two things you don't need a degree to do. In college he performed with and directed the long form troupe Second Nature, and co-coordinated Fracas!, the first purely collegiate improv festival in the country.
At UCB, Jacob performs harolds with Bangarang!, improvised movies with Rough Cut, and hosts the monthly Long Hard Improv Jam. He has also performed in Cagematch, Let's Do This, 3-on-3, CDR Sketch, The Passover Show, Jews vs. Gentiles, Tremendosaur's Great Big Hollywood-ish Sketch Show, The Prop 19 Show, and occasionally guest hosts Not Too Shabby. Jacob has been taking classes and performing at the UCB Theatre since 2006 and has been fortunate enough to train under Ian Roberts, Matt Besser, Craig Cackowski, Chad Carter, Sean Conroy and many other wonderful people. Jacob is also proud to be a member of the indie teams Typhoon, Fiasco! and Ladies & Gentlemen. He was also a member of the iO West team Roberto Alomar.
Jacob is one half of Tremendosaur, who LAist called 'a two-man sketch comedy beast.' The duo has written and directed for Comedy Central, Funny or Die, Universal and Current TV; their work has been featured in The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline Hollywood, New York Magazine, The Wall Street Journal and all over the magical pixels that make up the internet. Most recently, they were staff writers for Matt Besser's Comedy Central sketch special 'This Show Will Get You High.' Immediately after college, he and his Tremendo-cohort Justin Michael hosted a TV show for Playboy where they were around naked people. Like, lots of naked people. It was super weird.
