Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre

We have affordable, high quality shows seven nights a week in NYC and LA. Our original comedy videos have garnered the national spotlight. We also run the first nationally accredited improv and sketch comedy school in the country. For information on our courses visit the Training Center.

Cole Stratton

Cole Stratton is currently "paying his dues" in Los Angeles, where he enjoys losing parts to minorly more successful actors such as Barry Levinson's nephew. A noted improviser, he's done crazy make-em ups with Greg Proops, Patton Oswalt, Jack McBrayer, Rick Overton, Matt Walsh and Jeff Garlin, to name a few. Due to planet alignment, he has appeared on TV's Nash Bridges, played with puppies and Betty White on the Animal Planet original The Retrievers, thrown-down like the sarcastic white boy he is on Wilmer Valderrama's Yo Momma, and was a cast member on NBC's competitive comedy show Comedy Colosseum. He's a lead in the indie comedy Callback opposite Kevin Farley and will be seen as office gossip Ed in the horror-comedy The Selling. He’s appeared in national commercials for Group Health, Toyota, Popeye’s Chicken, Verizon, Pizza Hut and in a Wilco-scored VW spot.

He is co-founder and co-creative director of SF Sketchfest and co-founded the Bay Area sketch collective Totally False People (who performed at the 2004 HBO U.S. Comedy Arts Festival). With Janet Varney, he has recorded downloadable comedic commentary for the films Ghost and Dirty Dancing for RiffTrax.com, an online venture helmed by Mystery Science Theater 3000’s Michael J. Nelson. He performs weekly in Santa Monica with MI’s Westside Comedy Theater’s house improv team, Bruce, as well as periodically at venues like I.O West and the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. Be sure to check out his humorous ramblings on Riverbottom Nightmare Blog (www.riverbottomnightmareblog.blogspot.com), where he dishes on weird album cover art, fake celebrity gossip, cinematic gems and whatever else crosses his mind.
