Philip Eastman

Performer Headshot
Phil Eastman is a performer/musician/filmmaker, born and raised in the woodsy hippy township of Fairfax, CA, just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. University studies brought him to the Southland, whereupon he discovered taco trucks, documentary filmmaking, socially acceptable flakiness, and improv comedy. Then he graduated from the USC film school in ‘07 and shit got real.

Phil has been studying and/or performing at the Upright Citizens Brigade since 2008, after being encouraged to take classes by the Tremendosaur boys in order escape the doldrums of his desk job. There he met some of the people that would become his closest friends, road trip buddies, and the man who taught him how to walk like a velociraptor. He is now a (stoked) member of the UCB Maude team “Nice Kitchen” and can be seen playing around town with the improv lovefest known as “Fat/Magic Bear.”

When away from the Beachwood community, Phil plays rock and roll guitar in a rock and roll band of North Carolina boys called “Hi Ho Silver Oh”. The group performs rock and roll at various eastside venues, back porches, and rock and roll house parties. Joe Hartzler of “Flap Jackson” can hear us practice from his apartment and says we are “not bad.”

Phil is really, truly, excited to be here.
