Eric Hoffman

Eric Hoffman was a writer on HBO's Mr. Show with Bob and David. While attending Chicago's Columbia College he studied sketch writing in Norm Holly's "Comedy Workshop" class. From 1990 to 1996, Eric was a member of Chicago's Annoyance Theatre, where he wrote, directed and/or performed in such comedies as Brainwarp the Baby Eater, Goombahs!, Fingerball, The Stinky Onion Gang, and Dumbass Leaves the Carnival. He was also a cast member/coordinator of the Bean Can Tour, the Annoyance's first late-night sketch show.

His show The Idiotic Death of Two Fools was performed at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh. Eric's acting credits include Crossballs: The Debate Show, Malcolm In The Middle, The Brothers Solomon, My Big Fat Independent Movie, and Mullitt. He has produced and written several short films, including Nerd Hunter: 3004, The Sunday Detective Film Theatre (for Channel 101), and Brainwarp, which was released through FilmThreatDVD. Eric was the staff cartoonist (as Chic Tongue) for the modern stag mag Barracuda Magazine.

He has appeared in several shows at UCBTLA, including The Story of the 3 Jaw Crusher (a one-man show with eight people), The Moon Hoax Show, Mr. Christmas, Comedy Death-Ray and The Red Sandwich Christmas Hour.

Eric co-wrote (with Gary Rudoren) the McSweeney's book "Comedy By The Numbers," and the series of short films based on the book which appear on Super Deluxe.com. Eric and Gary have performed their book reading/show at fun places like the UCBTNY, and the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival 2007. He also collaborates with Jay Johnston on the Snuz Brothers short films (also on Super Deluxe).
